Atletico Madrid has announced that striker Rodrigo De Paul is currently out for at least one week with a knee injury, the club said in a statement.

The Argentine forward was substituted from the team's match against Sevilla on Sunday and was replaced by fellow forward Yannick Carrasco, who made his first appearance since recovering from a hamstring injury.

De Paul had been in good form during his time with Atletico Madrid, scoring five goals in all competitions this season. He was also part of the squad that won the Champions League last year, but he suffered a serious injury in the Europa League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

The injury update comes as Atletico Madrid look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season's campaign. The club has already signed several players in recent weeks,Bundesliga Tracking including midfielder Lucas Hernandez, defender Alvaro Morata and center-back Sergio Ramos.

Carrasco, who has played for Real Madrid before, will be given the opportunity to impress at the Under-21 level while De Paul recovers. It remains to be seen how long he may be out, but the situation is concerning for Atletico Madrid.
