Kim Shin-wook, the head coach of Chinese Super League side Shenhua, has revealed that his star striker Heung-min Son is set to miss the rest of the season with a serious injury.
The news comes after Son sustained an ankle ligament injury in the opening match of the season against Beijing Guoan on March 27th. The 28-year-old was ruled out for several weeks and is expected to be sidelined until at least May or June.
In his latest update on the matter, Shenhua's coach confirmed that Son will not play again this season but added that he would return to training soon. However, it remains unclear when exactly he can resume playing football.
